Kokrajhar: The Assam Legislative Assembly is set to create history by starting its Budget Session on February 17, 2025, at the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Legislative Chamber in Kokrajhar. This marks the first time the Assembly will convene outside its usual venue in Dispur, showcasing the state government's commitment to regional inclusion and balanced governance.
Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya will inaugurate the session with his address to the House in Kokrajhar. After the opening day, the proceedings will shift back to the Assembly Chamber in Dispur for the remainder of the session.
This decision highlights Assam's efforts to strengthen its relationship with the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) and recognize its role in the state’s governance framework.
