Bodoland Territorial Region Unveils Ambitious Community Vision Document

Guwahati: In a landmark move, the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) today released its much-anticipated Community Vision Document, a comprehensive blueprint aimed at ushering in a new era of peace, prosperity, and development in the region.


The document was unveiled at a launch programme held at the Pragjyoti ITA Centre in Machkhowa, Guwahati. His Excellency Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya ji, Hon'ble Governor of Assam, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Shri Pramod Boro, Hon'ble Chief Executive Member of BTR, Hon'ble Cabinet Ministers of Assam, and other dignitaries also attended the programme.


"We are proud to present this vision document, which is a reflection of the aspirations and dreams of the people of BTR," Boro said, addressing a gathering of community leaders, officials, and media persons. "This document outlines our roadmap for the next decade, focusing on inclusive growth, social justice, and environmental sustainability."


The Community Vision Document identifies key areas of intervention, including education, healthcare, infrastructure development, and economic empowerment. It also emphasizes the need for preserving the region's rich cultural heritage and promoting social cohesion among diverse communities.


Some of the key highlights of the document include:

• A plan to establish a network of model schools and colleges, focusing on quality education and skill development

• A comprehensive healthcare program, aiming to improve access to medical facilities and reduce infant mortality rates

• A major infrastructure development initiative, focusing on road connectivity, irrigation, and renewable energy

• A series of economic empowerment schemes, targeting women, youth, and marginalized communities


The document also outlines a framework for monitoring and evaluating progress, ensuring accountability and transparency in the implementation of development programs.


Boro emphasized that the successful implementation of the Community Vision Document would require the active participation and support of all stakeholders, including community leaders, civil society organizations, and government agencies.

"We are committed to working together to build a brighter future for the people of BTR," he said. "This vision document is a significant step in that direction, and we look forward to making it a reality."
